Tour du Mont Blanc
The Tour du Mont Blanc is a truly spectacular nine day trek circumnavigating the Mont Blanc massif and passing through diverse and beautiful scenery in France, Italy and Switzerland.
Walking the Tour du Mont Blanc is not for the faint hearted. The days are long and the descents and ascents can be tough. At the end of the day even the fittest will feel achy and exhausted, but you will also feel truly satisfied and delighted.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival at the White Chalet, Argentiere
On your first evening you'll have the opportunity to meet up with the rest of the group and your Trekking Guide. This will give you a chance to check that you have all the correct equipment required and also to run through the weather conditions for the week.
Day 2 - Argentiere to Les Houches
This is the first leg of the TMB and you will start from the Chalet in the morning. About 7 hours of walking will take you via Lac Blanc, Felgere and Brevant with stunning views all day. This is a good warm up day. Returning to the chalet tonight gives you the chance to re-pack, change or hire any equipment you feel you need.
Day 3- Les Houches to Les Contamines.
Today you will start by taking the Bellvue cable car from les Houches. At the top of the Bellevue there are spectacular views of the Dome du Gouter and the Aiguilles. From here you'll get an idea of the magnitude of the trek and the fascinating scenery the it has to offer.
Day 4 - Les Contamines to Les Chapieux
Todays hikes starts alongside clear running streams and pine forests before ascending to the col Bonhomme. From here you will get spectacular views. From the col it is down hill all the way to the hamlet of Les Chapieux where you will spend the night.

Day 5 - Les Chapieux to Courmayeur
Today you will travel into Italy, via the Col de la Seigne (2513m). Our destination is the bustling town of Courmayer.
Day 6 - Courmayeur to Refuge Bonnati
Today you will start with an ascent of the Monte De La Saxe Ridge, via the Bertone Hut. This ridge offers fantastic views of the dramatic Italian side of Mont Blanc and the Grande Jorasses. You will have the pleasure of spending the night at the wonderful Bonatti Refuge.
Day 7 - : Refuge Bonnatti to La Fouly
Keeping our altitude todays hike takes us along the valley wall to the Elena Refuge which is at the start of the days climb up to col du Grand Ferret and into Switzerland. From the top of the col you will be able to see the snow capped Grand Combin 4,090m and Mont Dolent 3,823m. The terrain is very different on Swiss side and the descent down to la Fouly is much more gentle than the Italian ascent.

Day 8 – La Fouly to Champex
A relatively easy day which starts off with a gentle downhill walk through woods and pretty Swiss villages. Today you will have time to enjoy a well earned drink by the beautiful lake at Champex.
Day 9 - Champex to Trient
Todays hike is perhaps one of the most demanding of the tour but the reward is quite magnificent. On reaching the rocky col du Fenetre at 2,670m, the view of the Trient glacier is quite breathtaking. You will need to stop a while to fully appreciate the position you find yourself in looking down towards the seracs and crevasses.
Day 10 – Trient to Argentiere
In the morning you retrace yesterday’s path along the Trient valley for a short time and before climbing up through the woods to reach the Col de Balme. Once across the col you are back in France. Tonight you will stay once again at the White Chalet
Day 11: Departure Day.
Changes to the itinerary are at the discretion of the Trekking Guide. These changes may be made due to weather conditions, conditions on the mountains, changes in accommodation, or fitness of the group.
