Ice Climbing

The courses that Graham runs in the Ecrins are aimed at those with previous ice climbing experience, or experienced rock climbers/mountaineers who want to learn to climb ice. Highlights Classic climbs on spectacular free standing ice pillars. Single and multi pitch routes with minutes of the car, in an area which boasts 300 days of sunshine per year. Outline Itinerary Our ice climbing trips in the Ecrins are run December through to February and are based at the comfortable and friendly gite ‘Le Chateau’ in Guillestre. Guillestres ice climbing areas are all within a short drive of the gite. There is a wide variety of both roadside and mountain climbing to keep you entertained for trips of any length.
