How your stay helps rewilding efforts
At Hotel Kul IN Ablana, nature is at the heart of everything we do. We grow rosemary, mint, basil, and other herbs right on-site for our restaurant, bringing fresh, local flavor to your plate while supporting biodiversity. Our team organizes beach cleanups along the Jablanac coast and even beneath the surface of the Adriatic, protecting marine life and keeping our environment pristine. We proudly support the efforts of Velebit Nature Park, as well as Rewilding Velebit. We are proud to host local family farms (OPGs) at our hotel, giving them a platform to showcase and offer their authentic, homemade products. This initiative supports local producers while allowing our guests to experience the true flavors of the region. Additionally, we’ve dedicated a special corner of the hotel to Rewilding Velebit, celebrating the natural beauty and conservation efforts of this unique area. OPG refers to family-run agricultural businesses that produce food and other goods, often in traditional and sustainable ways. These farms are common in Croatia and are a key part of rural life and local economies. Every guest is encouraged to respect and care for the nature they enjoy here - because protecting it is a shared responsibility.
Velebit Mountains | Croatia
Situated on the Adriatic coast of Croatia, with 145-kilometre long Velebit massif, two national parks and a biosphere reserve, the area boasts a diverse range of habitats: from barren Mediterranean landscapes at sea level, to vast beech forests, to almost boreal systems and alpine grasslands at higher altitudes.
