La Balluca brewery: Home of The Rewilding Spain beer

What better way to discover rewilding than by living it directly?

My collaboration with Rewilding Spain led to La Serrana, a beer inspired by the Serrano horses that live in semi-freedom in the Dehesa de Solanillos. Their role as large herbivores is key in reducing biomass, preventing wildfires, and creating open habitats that support biodiversity in a forest landscape recovering after the 2005 fire.

🌱 This initiative connects conservation, local identity, and the rural economy. 🍃🍺

What's Included?

- Guided visit to the facilities - Explanation of the beer brewing process - Pairing experience: tasting of 3 beer styles with 3 local dishes 🍺🍽️

How your experience helps rewilding efforts

La Balluca is a space for cultural exchange that strives to energize the territory while never forgetting the pleasure of enjoying a good beer. Through tourism experiences linked to La Serrana, I bring people closer to the real meaning of rewilding: restoring natural processes and returning resilience to ecosystems. 🌍 I believe in regenerative tourism that doesn’t just observe nature, but actively contributes to sustaining it and keeping alive the landscapes and communities that make it possible. 🌳✨

Iberian Highlands | Spain

The removal of dams and artificial barriers is restoring the natural flow of rivers and streams across the Iberian Highlands. This is revitalising aquatic ecosystems, allowing fish and other freshwater species to move freely and regain their abundance.
