Bison Tracking Adventure

What better way to discover rewilding than by living it directly?

Join a guided wilderness adventure to track bison in their natural habitat. Led by an experienced guide, you’ll follow tracks, learn about bison behaviour and explore remote landscapes - culminating in the chance to see these majestic animals in the wild.

Program

Meet the guide at the designated meeting point and start exploring the area where the bison have been reintroduced in the Fagaras Mountains by the Foundation Conservation Carpathia. The bison still have collars for monitoring, and tracking them is done both through tracks and signs, as well as by following the position transmitted by the collar. The guides are trained in wildlife tracking and will provide guests with stories about what this activity entails, as well as about the Foundation's project. This tour requires a medium-high fitness level, as tracking bison can also go through rough terrain.

What's Included?

Pickups and drop-offs

Transfer to the designated meeting point is not included, but can be arranged for an additional fee.
