Itinerary
PROGRAMME: DAY 1 15H-23H – Arrive at Rewilding Centre in Vale de Madeira (Pinhel) for check-in (For those arriving before dinner, we recommend dining at the Deep Taste restaurant in Pinhel) DAY 2 9H-13:30H: Guided visit to Ermo das Águias rewilding area for observation and interpretation of the region’s fauna and flora, specifically the Sorraia horses and Tauros in a semi-wild state in this area, and the impact of Rewilding Portugal’s work on the ground. 13:30H: Picnic lunch on the river beach of Vale de Madeira, with local products from members of the Wild Côa Network 14:30H: Travel to the historical village of Castelo Rodrigo 15:30H-18H: Historical visit to Castelo Rodrigo, guided with Hereditas 18H30-20:30H: Light dinner and tasting of different craft beers and local products at Cantinho Café 20:30H: Travel to the acommodation Canto da Gadanha to spend the night DAY 3 9H-11:30H: Traditional cheese making workshop in Quinta Vale do Tourão (may neeed to be adapted depending on the time of the year) 11:30H: Travel to Paul de Toirões rewilding area 12:30H: Field lunch served in the rewilding area by Mercearia da Saudade 13:30H-17H: Field visit guided by a specialized guide to Paul de Toirões rewilding area and experience in our wildlife observation hide 17H: End of the programme This experience is available for groups of between 1 and 20 people.
