What better way to discover rewilding than by living it directly?

⛰️ Grab a chance to experience nature up close in a unique photo safari among semi-wild bovines and horses. Set on spacious Lika Plains, surrounded by mountains and hills, this natural grazing area gives an opportunity to watch the behaviour of semi-wild animals, exposed to the climate and predators. The great Aurochs herds once roamed European plains, but were extinct four centuries ago. Thanks to a back-breeding process of autochthonous domestic cattle, it came back to life as Tauros, a missing link between ancient wild bovines, which played a key part in the progress of our very civilisation, and domestic cattle. Reintroduced a decade ago on Lika Plains, a herd of Tauros live in a natural setting, developing their social behaviour and adapting to the harsh climate and predators surrounding them. Next to the Tauros, a herd of semi-wild Bosnian mountain horses and Konik horses live freely, developing their wild nature. This herd of around 200 large herbivores impact the habitat as they graze, spreading herbs, opening gaps in forests, supporting species dependent on grasslands, etc. They open up forested and bushy areas, giving way to sunshine and the settling of new species. Predators surrounding them influence their behaviour as they adapt to their presence, trying to protect themselves and their young.

Join us for an unforgettable journey through the breath-taking Lika plains! Your nature guide will pick you up at your agreed location and drive you to our Safari, where you’ll spend about two hours exploring this stunning landscape. 🚙💨 During the Safari, you’ll visit two special enclosures where you can hop out of your all-terrain vehicle, immerse yourself in the scenery, and snap amazing photos. 📸🐾 After the Photo-Safari, your guide will safely return you to your pick-up spot.
