This trekking tour provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in pristine nature, observe wildlife in their natural habitats, and understand the work being done to protect these landscapes. By joining this tour, you won’t just explore the breathtaking landscapes and experience the region’s tranquillity – you’ll also directly contribute to vital conservation efforts.

The Făgăraș Mountains offer more than a journey; they provide a rare connection to nature and a chance to be part of Europe’s most ambitious conservation project.

The trip runs with min. 2 participants – max. 8 participants.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Romania no later than 3pm. Pick up from Bucharest airport and transfer to the first location. Accommodation at Equus Silvania guesthouse in Șinca Nouă village in twin / double rooms. Single room supplement available on request, limited availability Day 2: Enter the wilderness Accommodation at Poiana Tămaș wilderness camp in glamping-style tents. Single tent supplement available on request, limited availability Hike: 12 km, 1.100m ascent Day 3: Wildlife watching Accommodation at Comisu hide in 6 bunk beds or 1 double bed. Hike: 14 km, 800m ascent Day 4: Deeper into the mountains Accommodation at Valea Vladului Chalet. Single room supplement available on request, limited availability Hike: 16km, 800m ascent Day 5: Time to rest Accommodation at Valea Vladului Chalet. Single room supplement available on request, limited availability Day 6: Hiking up one of the highest peaks in the area Accommodation at hotel Baker's House, Leresti Hike: 15km, 1200m ascent Day 7: Return to civilisation Transfer back to Bucharest airport for your flight home

What's Included?

- Tour leader specialised in nature & wildlife, English speaking. - All meals and drinks according to the itinerary (Dietary restrictions of any kind can be catered for upon prior request. Table wine and beer are included, while our special wine selection and other beverages from the bar are available at an additional cost.) - Transport to and from the airport, as well as between locations. - Accommodation (1 night at Equus Silvania guesthouse, 1 night at Poiana Tămaș wilderness camp, 1 night at Comisu wildlife hide, 2 nights at Valea Vladului Chatel, 1 night at hotel Baker's house). - Main luggage transfer in between locations. - Entry fees. - Visits to UNESCO world heritage sites. Pickups and drop-offs

Important information Please arrive in Bucharest before 15:00 on the first day, so that we can proceed with the programme as planned. The exact pick-up time at the airport will be communicated to you prior to arrival based on the collective arrival times. On your departure day please choose a flight from Bucharest no earlier than 17:00, as otherwise due to traffic conditions departure to the airport will have to be very early in the morning. Transfers outside of collective option are available upon request and at an additional cost.
